Featured Friday: Jennifer Davis

Images: Jennifer Davis.

I can’t even remember when or how I came across Jennifer Davis’ art. It’s so special, I just had to share. Her use of texture and colour is really something else. I had the most difficult time choosing images for this blogpost, she’s made so much beautiful work. Just browsing through it, I feel totally inspired. Have a look for yourself by visiting her website, blog, Etsy shop and do read this wonderful interview: here. I really love how it shows the changes in her work over the years.
Have a great weekend!

Double Featured Friday: Tastes Orangey and Windy lane studio

Images: Clare Elsaesser and Kai Samuels-Davis.

This weeks Featured Friday is all about the lovely work of Clare Elsaesser (Tastes Orangey) and ‘her guy’ Kai Samuels-Davis (Windy lane studio). Such a talented couple!

I knew their work from Etsy and I already own three of Clare’s sewn prints (they’re so beautiful). Please somebody stop me, because I want more (birth-day-list!)…

Featured Friday: Anna Magruder

Image: www.etsy.com/shop/annamagruder.

This weeks Feature is Portland (US) based Anna Magruder. I first came across her art whilst visiting her Etsy shop. Wow. Her images are so life-like, yet there is always something distinctly odd about them. This is what she says on her website:
“In 2009, I decided to take a leap of faith and leave the routine and security of my design business to focus on what’s become my passion—oil painting and illustration. My favorite subjects are people and animals and whatever lies between. Drifting between realism and surrealism, I love recreating vintage America, reimagining the lives and stories of strong women, capturing the dormant kookiness or sweet serenity of a local cat, or just exploring the emotional color of faces in the crowd.”
These are some of my favorites from her Etsy shop: embrace, Alexandria, Boy & Paper, Sentinel and How To Fully Be Alive.
Have a good weekend everyone!

Etsy likes: Tastes orangey

I’m a happy bunny. I bought three sewn prints from Tastes orangey on Etsy and I wasn’t disapointed. They’re absolutely stunning: crisp matted prints, sewn on a piece of textured watercolor paper and signed. Also, the packaging left nothing to be desired (sturdy brown envelope, beautiful business card, handwritten thank you note and everything wrapped up with a woolen ribbon). Thank you, Clare!
